Technical knowledge is required to install respective softwares locally on to your system and should have a basic knowledge on customizing WordPress Theme / any other CMS themes.

If you do not have PHP and MySQL on your local system or a server, I would like to recommend downloading a stand-alone web server for installation of Apache, MySQL, and PHP. WAMP Server is for your Windows environment. Most of the developers prefer WAMP Server for their Web Applications to built, if you want to download directly then please do follow this link - WAMP Server download

Click on the link here - WAMP Server, which will take you to the WAMP Server home page from there you can download the software available. As of now, the latest release is WampServer 2.0g-1. This includes Apache 2.2.11, MySQL 5.1.32 and PHP 5.2.9-1.

After downloading the .exe file on to your desktop, please do follow instructions for completing installation process, this will setup Apache, MySQL, and PHP on to your system. And by default it will create the folder structure as shown in the screen shot below.

Note: If you have WAMP5 installed on your machine, then please do take a backup of your data, uninstall it and delete the WAMP5 directory before installing WampServer 2.

After completion of Step 1, now install WordPress in WAMP Server for running WordPress locally. And make sure to follow below steps carefully, since this invloves setting up of MySQL DataBase etc.,

Download WordPress: If you are new to WordPress and would you like to know more about WordPress then please do visit this link - WordPress, and if you want to download the latest version please do click here - WordPress for Download, As of now WordPress 2.7.1 is the latest version and it is of 1.8MB capacity.

Setting Up WordPress in WAMP Server: After downloading WordPress on to your local drive, unzip the package and please do place the respective folder in www folder of WAMP Server.

Run WAMP Server: If you are running any local servers like IIS, please do stop the service by going to your systems control panel (Windows Start Button -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager (This is in Windows Vista) and then after opening IIS, please do stop the service if it is running by-default, Since in the same port no two services cannot be runned simultaneously.

Now, run WAMP Server which is installed. You will see an icon on your system tray (that is, towards right bottom you will be provided with an icon, which is similar to a meter). Now click on that icon, it will provide a menu, in that click www directory which will open up your www folder (or) you can manually open the same from the place where you have installed WAMP Server (For Example: C:wampwww). You will see only one file as of now that is index.php, now! place your unziped folder of WordPress here.

Configure WordPress: Now after placing unzipped wordpress folder in www folder, open your lovely browser which you like, I like Mozilla the most - in the address bar type will the home page of WAMP Server, exactly simliar which I have shown in the below screenshot, if you are not seeing the same then there might be a problem with your installation or any other server might be running with the same port, make sure you stop that service first before you run WAMP Server.

Configure Database: Before you start off with everything, initially just create a Database for your WordPress. This can be achieved by clicking on the WAMP Server icon, click on phpMyAdmin from the menu provided and create a Database.

Other option to Configure Database: We do have other option to create a Database for this you have to goto WAMP Server icon, single click on that, in the options provided please do select MySql -> MySQL console, it will open up MySQL console and there in press enter since as this local there will be no password (if you want to then you can give the same through MySQL commands, if you want to do this Visit MySQL Website on how we can create password for the same). MySQL prompt will be shown up "mysql>" there you can type a command like create database database_name (like for example: create database developersnippets).

WAMP Server home page: In the home page (), click on wordpress which is under Your Projects section. When you click on wordpress it will take you to the Error page as we have not configured wp-config.php, need not to be panic here - just click on the Create a Configuration File button provided.

Now, it will take you to the wp-admin/setup-config.php page, here respective information is provided to configure the database. Click on Lets go! button, it will take you to the database connection details page (respective screen shot is shown below).

In the very first text box provide your valid Database Name, in the second text box provide valid User Name (for now I am giving "root"), most important *in the third text box provided please enter your strong password and this password will be your MySQL password as well . So, be sure you remember this but not to share the same to others (as this is local you can leave the textbox as blank). Leave the fourth text box as it was, that is for Database Host it should be only. Then for the last text box, that is for Table Prefix you can choose valid option here, if possible you can leave this as well. This is required if you are running multiple WordPress Installations. If everything goes well you will be taken to the install page which is shown below in the screen shot.

Run the install

Once you click on Run the Install button, it will take you to the Welcome page were in you have to enter your Blog Title, Email Id. Enter valid Blog Title and Email Id, as your are running the wordpress locally you can uncheck the below option that is Allow my blog to appear in search engines like Google and Technorati., then click Install WordPress button. If your installation is successfull, it will take you to the Success! page. Were in you will be provided with UserName and Password. Then click Log In button provided.

Note: Make sure to note the password, as this is a Randownly generated password. Once, after logging in you can change your password accordingly.

Once everything is success! it will take you to the wp-login page, here you need to type in your Username and Password which was generated in the earlier. After your log-in is successful, it will take you to the admin panel that is Dashboard. Which you can see in the below screen shots.

If you want to change your password after entering into Dashboard, then click on admin which is at Top most right corner.

Yeah, after completion of everything. Now! Just Relax, have a deep breath because everything is successful and now you can test/built your own WordPress themes locally and even you can customize your theme accordingly as per your requirement and proceed further.

I would like to say that, this would be a better option if you want to change the color scheme / to customize any section in your present WordPress theme which is LIVE, just download your theme which is online to your local and make sure to remove ads (that is Google Ads if any), since while you are customizing the theme you will be refreshing the page to check for the updates which you have done.

This process will help you trying any new free WordPress themes which are available in the Web World, you can download the same to your harddrive and place the same in themes folder of wordpress (for example: C:wampwwwwordpresswp-content hemes), and even you can install your own widgets and to test it before launching the same to the Web World.

Once after your updates are done in the local system, and if you are satisfied with the modifications then you can upload the same to the server using any FTP tool accordingly. Your job is done!

Fortunately, there's one way to get your pages opening faster without having to compromise your images or your content. This is a simple and effective method, but one that is rarely discussed by the web design experts.

To understand this approach, it's important to recognize the difference between "perceived" download time and "actual" download time. The perceived download time is the time it takes to have enough stuff displayed on your page for the visitor to be able to start studying your content. The actual download time is the time it takes for the entire page and all its contents to be fully downloaded.

The perceived download time is the one that really counts. Why? Because once your visitor has something before his/her eyes to read or look at, then there is much less risk that he/she will click away because your page is taking too long to load.

So how do you improve your perceived download time?

Simple, you break the content of your page down into two or more tables.

You see, web browsers will not start displaying the contents of a table until it has compiled the entire table to the end. Once a table is compiled it will display, and the browser will start compiling the next table.

That means that if you place the entire contents of your page inside one big table, the browser will have to compile the entire contents of your page before anything will be displayed. The result: your visitor spends all that time staring at a blank screen.

However, by putting some of the content towards the top of the page into a table of its own, the rest of the page can be downloading farther down, while your visitor is busy studying the stuff that's already displayed.

I've used this method to great effect on my own website. I went from an actual download time of up to 20 seconds (staring at a white screen) down to a perceived download time of rarely more than 3 seconds (often as low as 1 second)!

The ironic thing is, my page is now bigger (in terms of Kilobytes) than it was before I made the change. That's because 2 tables take more HTML than one.

But boy has that extra bit of HTML paid off!

Apple definitely has the edge when it concerns the huge range of apps readily available to purchase and download for free from the app store.

Cons

Offered in 8GB ($299), 16GB ($399), and 32GB ($499) capacities, the iPod Touch is a premium-priced device with an attractive set of features for a midsize portable video player. Still, the Touch's limited storage capacity makes it a difficult choice when held up to higher capacity products like the iPod Classic or Archos 605 WiFi.

DesignFor better or worse, the iPod Touch is clearly the iPhone's baby brother. Like most products that roll out of Apple, the Touch shows the love of committed designers, hardware engineers, and usability experts. The iPod Touch measures a slim and pocketable 4.3 inches by 2.4 inches by 0.31 inch, with an all-metal-and-glass design that feels as expensive as it looks. Because nothing will ruin a portable video player faster than a gouge across its screen, we're happy to see that the face of the Touch uses the same scratch-resistant glass found on the iPhone. Most users will still want to buy a protective case, however, since the iPod Touch feels a little fragile and the back is covered with the glossy, scratch-prone, smudge-loving chrome exterior common to most iPods.

There are only two physical buttons on the iPod Touch: a button on the face of the player used for calling up the main menu; and a screen deactivation button found on the top-left edge of the case. The iPod Touch is controlled largely using an icon-based touch-screen navigation menu nearly identical to the iPhone's, but with greater emphasis placed on music, photo, and video playback.

The two design details that distinguish the iPod Touch from the iPhone are the downward-facing headphone jack and volume controls. In the absence of dedicated volume control buttons, the Touch gives users the ability to bring up an onscreen volume slider by double-clicking the main menu button. The same volume screen offers controls for playing, pausing, and skipping through tracks.

When it comes down to it, the iPod Touch's most unique selling point is not its feature set, but its interface. You can find products that offer more features, as well as higher quality audio and video performance, but you won't find any other product that can match the feeling you get using the iPod Touch interface. Remaining features such as a Safari Web browser, POP/IMAP e-mail, YouTube video portal, photo viewer, music player, video player, stock tracker, weather forecaster, notepad, and iTunes Wi-Fi music store still place the iPod Touch on the cutting edge for portable video players, however. In fact, at the time of this writing, the only product that can even compete with the iPod Touch's combination of a Wi-Fi-enabled Web browser, wireless music store, wide-screen video playback, photo viewer, and audio player, is the Archos 605 WiFi.

One of the few notable features that put the iPod Touch ahead of the iPhone is the ability to output video and photos to a television using an optional Apple AV cable, Universal Dock, or qualifying third-party video accessory. We are a little disappointed that the iPod Touch is the only iPod that does not support a generic USB storage mode, but we doubt many users will be upset by this.

Audio format support is unchanged from previous iPods. The Touch supports standard and purchased AAC, as well as MP3, Audible, WAV, AIFF, and Apple Lossless. Video format support is likewise unaltered from the H.264/MP4 files playable on 5G iPods, as well as the third-generation iPod Nano and the iPod Classic. The Touch supports video resolutions up to 640 by 480 at 30 frames per second.

Beginning with firmware Version 1.1.3, iPhone and iPod Touch users can now use Safari to save bookmarked Web pages as menu screen icons, providing quick access to commonly-used sites.

iTunes Wi-FiBoth the iPod Touch and iPhone allow users to browse, preview, purchase, and download music from the new iTunes Wi-Fi music store. The store is limited strictly to music downloads--no movies, TV shows, podcasts, or games--at least, not yet. You'll have to hop onto an available Wi-Fi Internet connection to take advantage of the wireless music store, but once connected, you can search for any artist, album, or song in the iTunes catalog, as well as browse by genre, top sellers, featured artists, and new releases. Store purchases require you to enter your iTunes password as a security measure. Once the download is complete, the song is immediately available to listen to and will transfer to your computer's iTunes music library the next time you sync the device. The feature seems to work without any kinks. Even interrupted downloads pick up once a Wi-Fi connection is re-established.

Apple has also announced a partnership with the Starbucks coffee chain that will allow iPhone and Touch users the ability to access a Starbucks-branded version of the iTunes Wi-Fi music store when the device is used at participating cafes--without paying to use the hot spot. We doubt that anyone will purchase the Touch based on this added functionality, but it bears mentioning.

Firmware 2.0 improvementsLaunched in July 2008, version 2.0 of the iPod Touch's firmware adds support for many third-party applications available in the iTunes App Store. Developed primarily for the iPhone 3G, many of the iTunes App Store applications let you extend the functions of the iPod Touch to include features such as streaming Internet radio, sophisticated video games, and instant messaging. You can download App Store applications directly to the iPod Touch using a new App Store menu icon, or load them through iTunes after connecting the Touch to your computer.

Some of our favorite music-related applications for the iPod Touch include AOL Radio and Pandora, which let you stream music directly to the iPod Touch over Wi-Fi. Apple released an application called Remote which transforms your iPod Touch into a full-featured remote control for your computer's iTunes music library or a separate Apple TV system.

Wish listComplaining about the iPod Touch's lack of FM radio or voice-recording features feels like complaining about a Porsche's lack of cup holders. Still, there are some missing features on the iPod Touch that we would have enjoyed. High-capacity SD memory card expansion is at the top of our list of most-wanted features for the Touch. We could easily forgive any PVP's limited built-in memory capacity if the option of SD memory card expansion was available (the Archos 405 or Creative Zen are perfect examples of video players that give us the option to expand).

We'd also love to see embedded Flash support in the otherwise fabulous Safari browser. Whether video content from sites like DailyMotion or Viddler or music from Web sites like iMeem and Muxtape, embedded Flash media content is a big part of the Internet media experience. And while we're being picky, we also stereo Bluetooth transmission and the ability to use the Touch as an external storage drive like the iPod Nano and iPod Classic.

PerformancePutting aside the Touch's sleek design, futuristic interface, and innovative feature set, the quality of its audio and video playback rank only slightly above average. The iPod Touch reportedly uses the same audio chipset as the iPhone, but a different one than the iPod Classic. The Touch offers good audio quality, but not the stellar audio we were hoping for in an expensive product. The audio issue is compounded by Apple's long-standing history of preventing iPod users from defining their own custom EQ settings. Apple's 20 built-in equalization presets are handy, but there's just no substitute for rolling your own five-band EQ curve. With the Touch's emphasis on video playback, it would have been especially useful to have a surround-sound emulation effect similar to the Cowon A3's or Sony NWZ-S610's.

We've heard some complaints about the iPod Touch's video performance, but we found the overall quality to be good. Viewing angles are less than great, producing some color and contrast shifting from even slight tilting. We also found that the glossy glass screen kicks back a lot of glare. Still, despite the common complaints, the Touch is unquestionably the most video-worthy iPod yet.

Apple rates the iPod Touch's battery life at 22 hours for music playback and 5 hours for video. Our CNET labs found that the iPod Touch lasted an average of 23 hours for audio playback and 6 hours for video--which is better than expected, and more than adequate for a few in-flight movies.

Final thoughtsWe think the iPod Touch is a great product with lots to offer, but its premium price tag should give some shoppers pause. Don't assume that Apple's most expensive iPod is the best solution for your needs. If you're planning on watching a lot of video, high-capacity products like the iPod Classic or Archos 605 WiFi will allow you to load entire seasons of your favorite TV shows. Also bear in mind that if you're not around an available Wi-Fi network, features like the Safari Web browser, Internet radio, e-mail, iTunes Wi-Fi music store, and YouTube video portal won't mean much at all. While the iPod Touch may not be the slam dunk we were hoping for, it is an unquestionably cool product that continues Apple's legacy of sleek, innovative design.

How to Get iPod Touch/iPhone Firmware 3.1.2 and JailBreak it for 1G,2G,3G Blackra1n

You will need newest iTunes to work. -/itunes/download/

Ok lets get started.

SYNC your iPod/iPhone BEFORE STARTING.

!!!UPDATING YOUR FIRMWARE WILL ERASE EVERYING!!!

Firmware

-To get the firmware go to/iPod/firmware/

-Go to the bottom section "iPhone / iPod touch"

-Click the little arrowing thing / the Dropbox.

-It will open alittle selection thing, look for your type of iPod/iPhone.

-After you find your type of iPod/iPhone .

-Select the "iPod/iPhone,"1G,2G,3G"(3.1.2/7D11)

-Click Download after you selected it.

-Best place to download it is your Desktop

-If it is a .rar file or a zipped file-

-Change the name toiPod2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw

(or just add .ipsw at the end)

If you don't know how to rename, right click the file and click rename, or properties.

-Okay, now your done with the file.

Now, plug in your iPod andopen iTunes

-Note-You will need to update your iTunes in order for it to work.

On iTunes go toDEVICES and you should see your iPod/iPhone.

Open you iPod/iPhone and go to the Version section.

If it say Check for Update, check it and then cancel if it ask you to buy.

-Now hold Shift (on the keyboard) and click Update (While holding Shift)

-It should pop-up a file selection.

-Locate your file or in the search box, search iPod2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw

-Click it/Open it

-It should start updating for you, it should take a couple of minutes.

After it finish loading, you should have 3.1.2. Firmware.

Jailbreaking (Tether)

Warning: If you use this way to jailbreak you CAN'T play jailbroken apps!!!

You can only use 3rd party apps, Cydia and the apps you can get with cydia.

BUT YOU CAN'T GET APPS FROM APPULOUS

Only apps Cydia have.

Okay lets begin, this is the easiest way to jailbreak it and the only way I know it works.

Go to /

On the bottom of the page select your system Flag- Windows, Apple -Mac

Click it and it should start downloading. Should download on Desktop.

After downloading plug your iPod/iPhone.

Run the program blackra1n

When it open click Make it Rain

Then it should start loading.

Shortly after it is done, your iPod should be jailbroken.

On your iPod there will be a blackra1n logo.

You can install cydia and rock there.

Programs Needed

-iTunes - /itunes/download/

*Download and install

*Press the arrow pointing down, Select iPod touch 2G (2.2.1/5h11a)

*Press Download, download to your Desktop

Now you have everything you need to jailbreak you iPod.

TurnOFF Auto-open for iTunes, when you plug in your iPod.

1.Open Quickfreedom

2.Click Jailbreak iPod

3.Cick "Install LIBUSB" and install it

4.Click "Bowse..." go to Desktop and click the firmware.

5.Now there should be two check marks, "LIBUSB Installed" and "Original 2.2.1 Firmware - Found"

6.Now press "Next" button

7.Now on top Check "Installer" and"Use Custom Logos" (Logo is OPTIONAL)

*If you check logos, click "Change..." to pick you logos.

8.Click "Create Firmware" this should take some time 5-10 Minutes.

9.After it's done, Click "Next"

10.Put it in DUF mode. (Press DUF Instructions or follow my.)

*Plug in iPod

*Turn off and then unplug it from the computer.( Leave the cord connected the computer, just take out iPod)

*Plug it in and hold the Power Button and the button Home Button about 10 seconds

*Release the Power button. (The one on top.) And hold home button for about 30 more seconds.

*Now it should be in DFU mode.

11.Press "Start Pre-Jailbreak". (Your iPod screen should turn white.)

*Wait untill the screen turn white.

12.Open your iTunes.

*There might be a pop-up and say your iPod is in recovery mode, and stuff, it's notthing, close it.

13.Hold SHIFT key and click Restore on iTunes.

14.Now select the "coustom" firmware on your desktop.

15.Now it should be restoring.

*It will take quiet some time.

16.CONGRATZ! Your iPod Touch is now Jailbroken.

If failed or frozed leave it for 2-3 minutes and then shutdown your ipod and reopen it. If your screen is frozen, hold the home button and the power button, and wait for it to reopen.

If you dont like your Jailbroken iPod just restore it using iTunes.

Old units of computers such as Pentium II up to Pentium 4 will be degraded if we try to install Windows7. Good thing now is we have Puppy Linux that will not eat up every single resource your old computer has. Puppy Linux is a very light operating system that will make your old computer breath a new life again. Let me tell you, people are upgrading their computer to cope with the latest operating system that Microsoft computer release on the market. However, we have a choice. Either you buy a new computer or just use the old computer and make it productive again. The choice is yours! But if you only use the computer for simple tasks such as creati ng a document, recording some sound files, watching some DVDs and playing your music collections. You might want to give it a chance and be more productive again in the next couple of years. And that is absolutely free. Thanks to Barry Kauler for his genius crafts.

A. A Brief History of LinuxLinux started from the development system called UNIX by Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie who came from AT & T Bell Labs, in 1968. Because the purpose of the UNIX operating system is multi user and multi-tasking, then the UNIX rewritten using the C language (previously using language B). This allows for didevelop to different hardware platforms without having to write specific code. So develop it still continues to survive until today.

Bell to license these operating systems to several institutions, one of them to the Department of Computer Science University of California Berkeley, which eventually resulted in several cloning UNIX code with BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution). Professor Andrew Tanenbaum has been developing the Unix operating system that runs on personal computers of MINIX (Mini UNIX). But this system does not have all the functions desired UNIX student at the time, especially for the student named Linus Trovalds.

Linux came in 1991, developed by the student named Linus Trovalds with the purpose of making the free operating system like UNIX but with Traffic compatible with the PC. September 1991, Linux was first launched with a length of 10 239 lines source code for version 0.01. The next development releases version 0.95 which is considered most important, being able to run the X Windows System. On May 9, 1996, was inaugurated as the Linux mascot Tux made by Larry Ewing in accordance with the statement "Linus likes penguins". Tux name itself is taken from Unix to honor Trovalds Trovalds as Linux developer Linus.

Initially, Linux was released under a license that prohibits commerciality. But in its development, Linus Trovalds change the license to the GNU General Public License. The license allows distribution or sale of even a modified version of Linux but with a note that all these distributions Haras under GNU GPL and should be with the source code program.

Each program includes the operating system and additional application programs to be installed on the computer, but there also includes a complete program that can be run directly from CD boot process (live-CD).

The core of every Linux distro is a Linux kernel, a collection of programs from the GNU project (or projects), shell, and aturcara utilities such as libraries (libraries), compiler, and editing (editor). Most systems also include aturcara and non-GNU utilities, but can be exiled and still provide system-unix-style. Some examples are aturcara and utilities from BSD and X-Window System (X-Window System), X provides a Graphical Interface (GUI) which is the basis for a Linux system.
